My Background
Hi, I am Mert, a 25-year-old chemical engineer from Istanbul, Turkey. I graduated from Istanbul Technical University, where I studied valorization of waste biomass by pyrolysis technology. I also investigated modelling of anti-solvent crystallization process during my research internship at Technical University of Denmark. In the context of my MSc Thesis, I studied heterogeneous catalysis, CO2 utilization and CFD modelling at Bogazici University.
My Project
The aim of my project is to investigate superiority of flow chemistry on batch processes. Flow processes have major advantages in contrast with batch. These configurations will be examined both for homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts. Multi-column continuous chromatography will be integrated and studied to obtain target products in high purities. To show the advantages of flow processes, techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessments will be completed.
